Creative arts staff and a current PhD student are included in the shortlist for the Prime Minister's Literary awards released on 17 October 2016.
Sarah Holland-Batt, a senior lecturer in creative writing at QUT is included in the poetry section for her work ‘The Hazards'. Art Historian Julie Cotter who lectures at Federation University, included for her non fiction work ‘Tom Roberts and the Art of Portraiture' is joined by Karen Lamb, who teaches literature and communication at the Australian Catholic University, and whose work ‘Thea Astley: Inventing her own Weather' is also shortlisted in the non fiction category. Current University of Melbourne creative writing PhD student Lili Wilkinson is included in the Young Adult Fiction shortlist for her work ‘Green Valentine'.
The winners will be announced later this year.
