National Arts participation survey state and territory results available

The Australia Council has released the States and Territories results of its National Arts Participation Survey to supplement the recently released Connecting Australians: Results of the National Arts Participation Survey.  The report highlights that

  • ACT residents attend more theatre productions;
  • NSW residents are more likely to attend multi-art form festivals;
  • Queenslanders have an increasing affinity for First Nations arts;
  • South Australians are more likely to read novels and poetry;
  • Tasmanians are more likely to listen to music;
  • One in three Victorians give time or money to the arts;  and
  • 74% of West Australians believe that the arts are an important way to get different perspectives on a topic.
