SCU appoints 2019 Miles Franklin winner as inaugural creative fellow

Southern Cross University has announced 2019 Miles Franklin Award winner Melissa Lucashenko as the recipient of its inaugural Barry Conyngham Creative Arts Fellowship.

Ms Lucashenko received the 2019 Miles Franklin Award, for her latest novel Too Much Lip published by University of Queensland Press. This award comes on top of a number of other accolades she has received including: the Queensland Deloitte Literary Prize, the Nita B. Kibble Award, The Victorian Premier’s Award for Indigenous Writing, and the NSW Premier’s Literary Award. She is also a Walkley Award winner for her non-fiction, and a founding member of human rights organisation Sisters Inside.
